What is NestSmart?

A cut list optimizer for sheet goods, rolls and linear stock, and what it does with your job.

NestSmart turns the stock you have and the parts you need into a cutting plan: which sheet, roll or stick each part comes from, where it sits, the order of the cuts, and what is left over. It works for three kinds of stock, each with its own solver:

Sheet goods such as plywood, MDF and panels, cut with guillotine cuts that run edge to edge, as on a panel saw.
Rolls such as fabric, vinyl and film, planned to use the least roll length.
Linear stock such as lumber, extrusions, tube and bar, cut to length with kerf after each cut.

Every plan is checked by an independent validator before you see it, and the same job always produces the same plan. Dimensions are kept exactly: a part entered as 62 7/8 is 62 7/8 on the plan.
