Edge banding

Marking banded edges, choosing banding materials, and totals for length and cost.

Mark which edges of a part get banding, and NestSmart totals how much banding the job needs, what it costs, and shows the banded edges on the drawings and prints.

Which edge is which

Top and bottom are the part’s width edges; left and right are its length edges. When the optimizer turns a part, its banded edges turn with it.

Banding materials

In the Edge banding section, choose Add banding material and give it a name, an optional thickness, and a price per metre or per foot if you want a cost. To band several cuts at once, select them and use Edge banding for the selected cuts.

Banding never changes a cut size. Parts are entered at the size you cut. If your banding is thick enough to matter, enter the parts already reduced for it.

Banding totals are included in the printed plan and in a banding CSV from Export.
