Reusing offcuts
How leftovers worth keeping are found, marked on the plan, and added to your stock.
After a job, some of what is left over is big enough to use again. NestSmart marks those pieces as offcuts on the plan, so they can go back on the rack instead of in the bin.
The minimum size worth keeping
You decide what counts. Set the smallest offcut worth keeping in the Optimization section: a width and length for sheets and rolls, a length for linear stock. Any leftover at least that big is offered as an offcut; anything smaller is waste. Leave it empty to mark no offcuts.
Keeping an offcut
In the workspace, offcuts are marked on the plan, in the printed plan and in the results, so you know what to put back on the rack.
Keeping an offcut in NestSmart’s stock inventory works for jobs built from your material library, which is what projects and the API use. Open the run’s report from History and accept the offcuts you are actually keeping; nothing becomes stock automatically. Workspace jobs describe their materials inline, so there is no library material to file their offcuts under yet.
